2008 Piedmont Alternative Energy Expo®
Home Page
The third annual Piedmont Alternative Energy Expo took place on Saturday, May 17, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., near Warrenton, Virginia. The weather was appropriately sunny and breezy, and almost 600 attendees from the Piedmont region and beyond showed up to enjoy the event and learn about green technologies. The solar race car drew lots of visitors. Many of the kids displayed their ability to generate electricity for light bulbs by pedaling the energy cycle. Not an easy job for the long haul!
The Expo took place at the Fauquier County Fairgrounds, 6209 Old Auburn Rd, Warrenton, Virginia, 20187-4353 (map) just outside the town of Warrenton. The Fairgrounds offered ample free parking, with food available on site during Expo hours. A nominal admission of $5 per adult was charged, with children and students admitted free.
The Expo showcased the latest energy technologies that promise to reduce the nation's dependence on fossil fuels. Check out our list of the 45 outstanding and knowledgeable exhibitors who were present for the event.
