RLEP’s annual membership meeting last October was devoted to the celebration of the organization's 35th birthday. What turned this well-attended social event into a smashing success was the tireless volunteer work and material contribution of many individuals (RLEP members as well as others), to whom I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of our organization. Space doesn't permit me to thank each and every person who contributed to the evening’s success, but I will single out three individuals who made a special contribution.

This was RLEP's first annual membership meeting that featured an auction to raise funds. All sorts of valuable items were donated to our organization by Rappahannock artists and merchants. This marvelous idea for fundraising came from Rick and Kaye Kohler, whose dedicated efforts resulted in numerous generous donations to RLEP. Rick's wit and talents as an auctioneer not only raised enough funds to make the party pay for itself but turned the auction into a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable experience.

We also offer special thanks to Tom Tepper. He donated his time and artistic talents to the preparation of a large, beautiful poster that became a fitting motif and centerpiece for RLEP's 35th birthday.
